A short teaser:
Once considered the domain of literary studies, narrative has become a topic of burgeoning interest across the humanities and social sciences. There has now emerged an interdisciplinary consensus not only that narratives of all forms permeate our lives, but that our capacity for storytelling is an evolved cognitive faculty for making sense of experience. This paper will consider the impact of this broad narrative turn on the study of narrative fiction.
