Jim Phelan received an Honorary doctorate at Aarhus University's annual celebration, and in connection with his visit, Jim Phelan also lectured on the basis of his recently completed essay on the relation between rhetorical theory and cognitive theory under the heading "Rhetorical Theory, Cognitive Theory, and Morrison's 'Recitatif': From Parallel Play to Productive Collaboration".
